There are so many poker players out in the world today that are highly recognizable, and others are not. One of the more recognizable poker players is Daniel Negreanu.

Daniel Negreanu was born on July 26, 1974, born in Toronto, Canada. He was born to Annie and Constantin Negreanu. Daniel started out when he was young, and began at the age of sixteen going to pool halls, hustling, sports betting, and eventually playing cards. Daniel dropped out of high school to play what is known as a rounder at local charity casino events. He was always looking for illegal card games around the city. After building up his bankroll he left Las Vegas at the age of twenty-two to become a professional poker player.

In the year 1997, Daniel Negreanu won two events at the World Poker Finals at Foxwoods. He ended up earning over fifty-five thousand dollars. He was also named the tournament’s best all-around player. Daniel Negreanu also followed that win by winning over $160,000 dollars in two tournaments in 1998. He also became the youngest World Series of Poker bracelet winner in history. Which is quite an achievement due to all the other phenomenal players in the world? Daniel Negreanu was named the World Series of Poker player in the year 2004. He was also named the World Poker Tour player of 2005.

Daniel Negreanu himself, after being given so many awards for player of the year, ended up winning four bracelets as of July 2009. Daniel Negreanu was awarded the position of Poker Ambassador for the opening of the Wynn Las Vegas opening. They wanted him to play for any stakes on any of their tables. Daniel’s arrangement with this casino lasted until the year 2005 in October. That only ended because the Wynn was stopping Daniel from playing in different casinos and Daniel Negreanu didn’t agree with that and hence the contract ended. Two months later Daniel Negreanu opened up his own online card room, called skin, on his official site. He played in this card room underneath the username, ‘Kid Poker’.

In 2007 Daniel Negreanu signed with the now popular poker site, Poker Stars. He joined the elites which included Chris Moneymaker, Greg Raymer, and Joe Hachem, and numerous other professional poker players that the site has also recruited.

Daniel Negreanu has also made a name outside of the poker table. He has been seen on numerous television such as ‘Late Night Poker’, a show called ‘High Stakes Poker’, and ‘Poker After Dark’ where he has made an impression on the young professional poker players to be. In one show he stood as a commentator and stand-in host on the television show called ‘Ultimate Poker Challenge’.

Daniel Negreanu is a professional poker player, an excellent one at that if you have watched him play, with a bankroll of over one hundred thousand dollars. That is a dream to many poker players, but as they say, never give up on what you love. Daniel Negreanu sure loved poker. He started early and is still following his passion while making quite the living.
